The Picture Editors Role

The role of a picture editor differ depending on the type of industry. Photo editors may meet with their managers to discuss what types of picture are needed for a certain project and then give out photo assignments to their staff. After the pictures are taken, the editor typically looks the pictures over and if changes are needed alters the photos accordingly.

Image Sources

Magazines use different sources for different pictures in there magazines, for example there own photographs, free lancers, libraries or PR companies. Photos in magazines should imminently show the reader who is in the article and what its about, the image will also show the mood sue to this picture and how its presented. Picture libraries and agencies  are companies that sell photographs
when the picture is impossible to take, for example if someone who has died featuring in your magazine you go to one if these and buy picture.

  1. This is copied straight from book. Needs to be written in own words. Good selection of images on moodboard - would like more detail about images e.g. in the pose sitting on car hands crossed, serious facial expression etc.
